This story from ScienceDaily describes a study of people who wear extended wear contacts (leaving them in consistently for a month without removing even at night). The study tested to see if putting in a new pair every night before bed, or putting in a new pair every morning would prevent the risk of adverse reactions. The study found that if you change the lenses each morning, it does decrease the risk, as opposed to leaving the same pair in for the entire month. It did also find that switching the lenses before bed does not help.
